Program · free · 30 days · about 10 minutes a day
The Imaginal Act, thirty days.
One small practice a day. You see the life you would love, build a bridge to it with reps and bold moves, and keep an honest record of what happens, misses included. Everything you write stays in your own files.
The Imaginal Act — 30 Days
A free program from Reality Architect, the open practice for architecting a life. Imagine it. Build it. Witness it.
Thirty days, about ten minutes a day. Each day has one short practice and one evening entry, and ends with your own words in your own files.
Who it is for
You want a specific life and a practice you can check. You may love contemplative practice and still want honest bookkeeping. You may keep your life in plain notes, or work with an AI agent.
What it is not
- No promises. Nothing here promises health, income, relationships or any other outcome.
- No causal claims. Imagining, feeling or believing does not make events happen. Inner work changes what you notice and do, and what you do changes things.
- Not therapy, and not advice. For health, money or legal questions, talk to a qualified professional. If you are in crisis, or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, stop and contact local emergency services or a crisis line.
- No streaks. A missed day is information about the plan, the place or the pace, never a verdict on you.
Two registers
Each day explains itself twice, labeled and never blended. Meaning is contemplative and yours. Mechanism is the studied pathway (attention, if-then plans, mental rehearsal, environment design, feedback) and its limits. Each day's library field names the entries behind it in the Library.
The four weeks
- See (days 1–7). The honest now, the Atlas, one scene, your
soul.mdlines, the first look-for. Day 7: the first weekly snapshot. - Bridge (days 8–14). One aim with a verifiable done-when, the smallest rep, a dated bold move, an if-then for the obstacle, one change to your room. Day 14: a pace check and a snapshot.
- Witness (days 15–21). Signs primed and unprimed, openings, people and places, a lesson, gratitude. Day 21: a snapshot.
- Compound (days 22–30). Identity votes, a decision with a review date, the pace conversation, repairing a missed day, a system, a vow. Day 28: a snapshot. Days 29–30: the month snapshot, then keep, release, carry.
From day 5, every morning sets one look-for and every evening marks it: yes, no or not marked. Misses count with hits.
Your files
Everything goes into the open format: soul.md (meaning), reality.md (the contract) and a reality/ folder (~/.reality/ in home mode) holding atlas.md, aims/, log/, witness.md, evidence.md, snapshots/ and decisions/. Paths use <today> for the date (YYYY-MM-DD) and <time> for HH:MM. You own every line. An agent proposes and never applies edits unasked, and a snapshot is sealed only when you say it is true.
Three ways to run it
Reality Studio. Open Reality Studio. It keeps your practice in this browser on this device; export to Markdown for a copy. Each day names its Studio view.
The Claude Code plugin. Install it with /plugin marketplace add frankxai/realityarchitect, then /plugin install reality-architect@realityarchitect. Run the reality-onboard skill once to create your files. Each day, read the day's file and ask for the reality-loop skill. It computes which loop is due (the day's loop field names the one it leans on), walks it with you, and asks before every write.
Obsidian. Create soul.md, reality.md and reality/ in your vault from the templates, then copy days/ beside them. Vault mode keeps everything visible on desktop and mobile.
Complete Edition
An optional paid Complete Edition adds guided rehearsal audio, the companion book, a printable journal, and a ready vault for Obsidian. You do not need it; the practice is complete here.
