← The Imaginal Act, thirty days

Week 2 · Bridge · Day 14 of 30

The pace check

Today's intent (planned)

Read the honest numbers for your aim, choose one adjustment if it needs one, and seal your second weekly snapshot.

The practice

  1. Set today's look-for in reality/log/<today>.md.
  2. Count since day 9, when reps began. Planned: your reps per week, scaled to six days (3× per week is about 3). Logged: rep entries in reality/witness.md with Bridge: <slug>. Note any bold move past its date and not done. The plugin's engine counts the last 14 days, so read its number against the six days you have had.
  3. Read it plainly. On pace: at least 80 percent of planned reps and nothing overdue. Behind: at least half, and at most one overdue move. Below that: not enough for the date. This is a reading of the plan, not of you.
  4. If it is behind, choose one adjustment: a smaller rep, an environment change, a person to do it with, or a new date. Edit reality/aims/<slug>.md (Studio: Bridges).
  5. Seal the weekly snapshot as on day 7, with period: <day 8> → <today> and a ## Bridges section with one line: - <aim> — <pace> — reps <logged>/<planned> — moves <done>/<total>. With the plugin, reality-loop walks pace, then weekly.

Why it works

Meaning

A pace check can sting. Let it be a conversation with your plan, held with the patience you would give a friend. Adjusting is not giving up; it is how a plan becomes yours. How you treat yourself here is part of who you are being.

Mechanism

Specific, timely feedback is easier to act on than a vague sense of "not enough." Habits form over weeks to months, so early numbers describe the plan's fit, not your capacity. When reps are low, the levers are size, cue, environment and company. Change one at a time, so you can see which one helped.

  • Did it come? In the log: - Did it come: yes, no or not marked.
