← The Imaginal Act, thirty days

Week 3 · Witness · Day 20 of 30

From sign to act

Today's intent (planned)

Take one sign or opening from your ledger, honor what it meant to you, and do one thing because of it.

The practice

  1. Set today's look-for in reality/log/<today>.md.
  2. Read this week's entries in reality/witness.md. Find one sign or opening with an empty Did (action) line.
  3. Read its Meant line again. Ask: if I take this seriously, what small act follows? Send, ask, start, book.
  4. Do it today, or give it a date and put it in your calendar.
  5. Leave the old entry as it is. Tonight's new entry points back to it.

Why it works

Meaning

A sign's meaning is yours. Nobody can tell you what a coincidence says to you. Taking it seriously can mean answering it with your hands. Whether you read the moment as guidance, as a mirror or as a reminder, the act is your reply.

Mechanism

A meaningful coincidence can work as a prompt: a cue that brings an aim to mind and makes a next act easier to choose. That is its pathway, through attention to action. The ledger keeps the sign, its meaning and the act on separate lines, so the record never credits a sign with an act you took.

Tonight (reported)

Add an entry at the top of reality/witness.md (Studio: Witness). Head it ### <today> <time> · move if the act took courage, · rep if it was part of your practice, or · win if it voted for an "I am" line. For a move or a win, also add a line to reality/evidence.md.

  • Happened (fact): The act, and the date of the sign it answered.
  • Meant (my meaning): What answering it meant to you.
  • Did (action): Only what is done.
  • Next (planned): If you set a date instead of acting, write it here.
  • Did it come? In the log: - Did it come: yes, no or not marked.
