The one scene

Today's intent (planned)
Write one short scene from inside the life you want, for one priority domain. An ordinary moment, not a highlight.
The practice
- Pick one priority domain from your Atlas.
- Close your eyes for a minute. Find a moment that would follow if this domain worked: a Tuesday evening, not an award night. Where are you? Who is near? What are your hands doing? How does the moment end?
- Write it in the first person and the present tense, three to five sentences. "I close the laptop at six. The chapter is sent. I walk to the kitchen and start dinner."
- Check it. Could it happen on an ordinary day? Is it about what you do and see? If another person is in it, they are there by their own choice; the scene never decides for them.
- Write it in
soul.mdunder## The scene(Studio: Soul). Copy one sentence intoreality/atlas.mdunder that domain's heading as- The scene (desired): ….
Why it works
Meaning
Living in the end is an old contemplative practice. For a minute you stand inside the scene as if it were already your ordinary life. What that minute means is yours to say. Here the scene is a place to choose from: a quiet picture of the person you are becoming, which you can return to on any day.
Mechanism
A concrete scene gives attention a target and makes the matching next act easier to recognize. In experiments, picturing the outcome on its own was linked to lower effort, so the scene is not the whole practice: the obstacle and an if-then plan come on day 11. The scene is labeled desired. It is not a prediction, and it does not act on events.
Tonight (reported)
Add an entry at the top of reality/witness.md, headed ### <today> <time> · rep (Studio: Witness):
- Happened (fact): Which domain did you write a scene for? One plain sentence.
- Meant (my meaning): What was it like to stand in it? Your words, or blank.
- Did (action): Only what is done: the scene, saved.
- Next (planned): When you will read it again. Tomorrow morning works.
- Did it come? No look-for yet; it starts on day 5. Leave that line out of today's log.
